We had a great day here. The Kids were out of school, so we got to hang out. I took them to the library because The Girl is doing a report on Malaysia and needed some books.
Then, we got on to the serious business of pumpkin carving.
I had recently gotten quite a good laugh out of Rechelle's tale of her teeny baby boy carving his own pumpkin this year. I was aghast that they'd allow such a little one to handle such a sharp knife.
Imagine my surprise.
My heart recovered and after a quick meal, it was time for The Kids to set off Trick or Treating.
Meet Pioneer Girl and Indiana Jones.
The Ohio Grammy sewed The Girl's costume this year and she loves it. Adores it. Slept in it the first night. She has always wanted a pioneer dress and she can't wait to go to the next reenactment so she can wear it.
Indiana Jones all came from the thrift store. Gotta love that. Except the pants, The Boy already owned the pants. And the bullwhip is from Ebay.
The Girl would not smile for her pictures. She told me pioneers never smiled. They were too busy trying to survive.
Indiana Jones can smile however. He enjoys smiling. Especially after he's just kicked some Nazi butt.
After a few quick pictures, The Kids took off with The Dad and The Dog. I stayed behind for candy duty. We like to hand out candy, thus ensuring that The House does not get TP'd.
The Dad took his camera.
The Boy weighed his candy once he got home, 5.4 lbs.
Anybody need some sugar?
She looks so tall in that dress! They are both adorable.
