Every year, we head out to a local fair with The Aunt and The Uncle. We have been going since The Girl was an itty bitty little thing. Every year, The Kids still get excited about going. So do all of us grown-ups. It's nice because not only are we all spending time together, but it's time focused on The Kids and being together as family.
Every.single.year. The Boy has to ride in the McDonald's car. The Boy's favorite restaurant for years was McDonalds. It's amazing how some things haven't changed, but some have. The Boy had to have the McDonald's car, but it's no longer his favorite place to eat.
The Girl moved up to the "bigger" kid rides a few years ago. She still enjoys riding her favorite kiddy rides, but for the most part, she's been loving her some speed and spinning for the past years.
I think one of the reasons The Kids love this fair so much is because they get to choose. They choose which rides to go on and get to ask any of the 4 of us to go with them. They pick the whole day. As a kid, how many times does that really happen?
I tell you, this ride gets tougher every year. Now, I have almost 110 lbs. of kid squishing me every time we swing out at the corners. I spent most of the ride saying, "Uuushh!" The Kids thought it hilarious.
Some of their old favorites just didn't have the same pizazz as they used to. They were downright, well, boring.
The Boy had already decided a few days before that now that he can ride his bike really fast, he's ready to move on to some more adventerous rides. And he did...
The Boy went on this coaster 7 times. This ride in itself more than paid for the cost of the unlimited rides band. He was jazzed to be so brave.
He tried out all the different cars to see which was the best place to sit.
The Aunt mentioned at one point, that we probably only had one or two years more of The Girl actually wanting to come to the fair. As much as I know it's probably true, I hope not. I really hope not. I don't mind having to drag her there, as long as she has fun once she's there.
No trip to the fair would be complete without the cotton candy.
Last year, we were considering moving out of state for various reasons. We had plenty of good reasons to leave, but we have the best to stay.
Oh that swing ride just scares the #$%^ out of me!
